Wishing you all a wonderful 2008!

 Air Fresheners

I had seen these Air Fresheners made by a few people, so just had to try it! I was amazed at how fast they came together and how the water dissolved into the crystals. They turned out SO cute and were very inexpensive to make. I figured it out and it cost about 90 cents a piece to make these.

Materials Needed:

  • 4 ounce quilted crystal jelly jars (or a jar of your size)
  • Liquid Potpourri in your choice of a smell
  • Moisturing Plus Watering
  • Crystals made by Shultz
  • Small jar or measuring cup to mix items in
  • Water
  • Spoon for mixing

Directions:

First open your box of jars, and reverse the lids... this way you have a white lid showing and not the flowered side.

Next dump two scoops (scoop comes with it) of the crystals into each jar.

I then used a stage 3 baby food jar (because I had it on hand, but any jar could be used) and put about 1/3 of water in the jar,

then filled it with liquid potpourri.

(I was able to make two air freshners per baby food jar of mixture.)

Next I poured half the liquid mixture into one quilted jar and half into another.

I then added 2 more scoops of the crystals.

Waited about 20-30 seconds and mixed it a bit as it formed into a gel.

I patted it down with the spoon and put the cover on it because I am saving these for my craft show. However, if I was going to use it, I would have covered with a cloth or lace so that the aroma could come out.

The First one is Apple / Cinnamon.

This second one is Honeysuckle.

The potpourri and liquid crystals that I used .

I found the Potpourri in the crafts section, and the crystals in the House plant section of Wal-Mart. The Potpourri was $1.87 a bottle and the crystals were on sale for $7, but normally are $7.97. I was able to make 24, 4 ounce jars from the one container of crystals, and you can see how much potpourri I have left over... enough to make another 24 at least
